« Mon Nov 20, 2017 10:24 am »   Captain... ive seen some good blue bone and jacks at lee recently.. just off prawns... not enough bait around for the pelagics imo
« Mon Nov 20, 2017 9:18 am »   thought the removal of sand from the ramp would be ongoing. It just does not stop silting up!!!
« Mon Nov 20, 2017 9:07 am »   feeds, i think that the time limit is up for that contract. Its funny that they knew it would silt up because of the poor design in the 1st place
« Mon Nov 20, 2017 7:43 am »   Sounds like Dundee ramp is going swimmingly. Do the tea Tractors still operate, when how much.
« Mon Nov 20, 2017 1:20 am »   I thought someone was awarded a contract to clear the sand of the ramp regularly?
« Sun Nov 19, 2017 11:15 pm »   GEEZ Hot Tuna when it first opened I launched and retrieved no probs on a .5 low. 5.3 mtr Quinnie. Must have silted up alot??
« Sun Nov 19, 2017 8:00 pm »   Funny you say that. Could have sworn I saw a dead one just past the race track a few mornings ago

« Fri Nov 17, 2017 9:56 am »   I often wonder just what contribution we as fishos make to the growing levels of plastics in the oceans. I know ive lost hundreds of SP and hardbodies
« Fri Nov 17, 2017 7:57 am »   so many stories of fish dying and pollution in the water lately, around the world too not just oz, are we on the other side where theirs no going back

« Thu Nov 16, 2017 3:50 pm »   tangels and dreamrider ... popped the outgoing this morning for a nice brassy ... sighted some good queenies too
« Wed Nov 15, 2017 10:56 pm »   Dreamrider .. Yeah mate hit it to weeks ago high tide heaps of queen fish.
« Wed Nov 15, 2017 6:55 pm »   I saw the F250 on Saturday pm - he wasnt going anywhere until old mate gave the Sailfish a kick in the guts on the trailer. We happily (sort of) waited 45 minutes for the water to get up over the sand and retrieved easily and without fuss. Having said that I have been picked up by Jethro/tractor heaps of times at 2m in the gold old days before millions spent on an all tide dual (single) lane public ramp
« Wed Nov 15, 2017 2:45 pm »   or all you guys using the dundee ramp could wait for some more water before retreiving!!!!!
« Tue Nov 14, 2017 9:33 pm »   Cheers Matt Flynn,,, will check out tomato island,, just want to show off the territory and our fishin..
« Tue Nov 14, 2017 9:15 pm »   Once you get a hero in an F250 trying to pull out an 8.5metre Sailfish tearing the sand up you will likely get stuck
« Tue Nov 14, 2017 9:13 pm »   Dundee is far from all tide. I normally work off 2.4metres but I was the first boat out of a queue of 15 on the weekend at 2.8metres and I only got out with a snatch strap and a mate. At 2.4 I couldn't even touch the back of my trailer. The big problem is everyone revving there engines once on the trailer. It builds sand mounds up so even if your trailer hubs are under water you have to drive over sand mounds to get to it. I walked off the end of the ramp and though my hubs were under 10 feet away I was standing in ankle deep. If you want to avoid putting your car on sand, work off 3.5 of Point Jenny Tide
« Tue Nov 14, 2017 5:34 pm »   Octopus
« Tue Nov 14, 2017 5:34 pm »   I want a pet http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-11-14/o ... tenews_nsw
« Tue Nov 14, 2017 4:53 pm »   I use concrete under the tyres
« Tue Nov 14, 2017 4:40 pm »   Depends how big your boat is and how well set up your 4wd is ......It's an all tide ramp still if u let the 37s down to15psi and turn the difflocks on as you reverse over a line of maxx tracks LOL , bring a 12000lb snatch strap and a few spare drinks as someone is usually nearby to pull you out when you get bogged or you could just snatch the trailer up to the top then reconnect it
« Tue Nov 14, 2017 2:46 pm »   Anyone know the minimum tide needed for the Dundee ramp?
« Tue Nov 14, 2017 2:33 pm »   tangels been fishing lee point lately?
« Tue Nov 14, 2017 9:35 am »   I'm keen to fish nearly every afternoon after work this week, if anyone wants a fishing mate. I finish work at 430pms usually, and mrs doesn't mind, as long as she knows where im fishing. PM me if anyone keen. I fished Fannie bay rocks, just near PeeWees yday, about 545pm til 730....donuts. Was optimistic tho, but not best tide to fish yday. :)
« Tue Nov 14, 2017 6:23 am »   sent you a PM Bender
« Mon Nov 13, 2017 5:41 pm »   pretty harsh camping the mouth this time of year for a German couple - I'd suggest Tomato Island campsite, might want to check when it is open too. The rock just upstream with the shipwreck is as good a spot as any on the turn of the tide
« Mon Nov 13, 2017 4:34 pm »   Gday people,, i must admit,, i need help.. I have never fished the roper river before, I'm camping out with a german couple so i want them to have a bl..dy great time in our beaut country.. I need some solid help though as to where to camp. I was hoping to fish and camp around the mouth or at least in the tidal influence of the river but i dont want to swim to get my boat in the morning hahaha.. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated lads nd ladies,,, I was planning on heading out around the 18th november for bout 4ish days,, i think the tides are coming down from the big tides as well,,, thanks to anyone who can help me and good fishin to all..
« Mon Nov 13, 2017 1:12 pm »   If you use Buff creek, just head north of the first mangrove bush next to the ramp. There is lots of sand to nose up on. Between the ramp and that first bush are a few stones and other nasty debris. Only other thing is that on a incoming tide it rips across the face of the ramp which can make it tricky to get on the trailer. If it self centres well you will be okay. Otherwise wait until above 5m when the run slows down.
« Mon Nov 13, 2017 8:24 am »   Any one know how yellow waters would fish with the rain we have had? Looking for an easy place to take the family
« Sun Nov 12, 2017 5:58 pm »   Yeah it is glass. Other option I was looking at is hitting Woods and Cox Peninsula
« Sun Nov 12, 2017 5:50 pm »   Use these tides https://tides.willyweather.com.au/nt/da ... creek.html. Easy to launch solo as long as its not a glass boat
« Sun Nov 12, 2017 3:53 pm »   Are the tides for Buff Creek the same as Darwin Harbour? Easy enough ramp to launch solo from? Thinking of hitting it up tomorrow.
« Sun Nov 12, 2017 8:28 am »   Captain6979 give shoal bay ago. There's been some nice bazzas getting caught.
« Sun Nov 12, 2017 12:01 am »   Well, harbour donuts today.. helluva lotta trolling, and flicking, for 2 cod... ugh. Any suggestions for tomorrow tides?
« Sat Nov 11, 2017 6:41 pm »   According to Willy weather (the Ozito of weather sites) it will be 4.5m. Plus an easterly across a shallow bay would give me some extra water too?
« Sat Nov 11, 2017 6:40 pm »   Shady or Wildman tomorrow? What do you think? I’m hopin to be at pt Stuart by 0530, can anyone convince me that’s early enough? I’m not 100% sure
« Sat Nov 11, 2017 6:16 pm »   Anyone thinking of heading to Dundee would want to be back in early. Ramp is causing all sorts of chaos. Ramp is all silted up and cars and trailers have chopped it to pieces. Fishing ain't exactly worth the drive either
« Sat Nov 11, 2017 8:22 am »   Always the way wazdog.. How ya been . have been fishing much mate.
