Barramundi Fishing Chat
« Fri Sep 21, 2018 5:07 pm »   yes, theyve opened waaaay earlier in previous years, because theyve had media releases previous years have said things like: thousands have already registered for the MDF comp, etc etc.. Anyways, expect bulk-bulk rego this year, economy is down, expectations are high, and fishing is fishing!! :)
« Fri Sep 21, 2018 4:27 pm »   I queried MDF organisers about registration and they advised they open on 1 October. I’m sure they opened earlier in previous years.
« Fri Sep 21, 2018 10:17 am »   We have all done it! Cheers for the feedback @flickin4em
« Fri Sep 21, 2018 9:18 am »   Hearing rumours that it might be getting bigger, announcement must be soon, given the date ...
« Thu Sep 20, 2018 11:15 pm »   Hey Matt whats going on with MDF4 ? You cant register and I havent seen any advertising for it and it starts in 10 days ! Maybe a drama with sponsers ???
« Thu Sep 20, 2018 10:29 am »   if you can get out on neaps when there is no wind and clear water, some big fish potential, I mean out the front, not the barrage
« Thu Sep 20, 2018 10:29 am »   Mate went out the other day. .. barra to 70ish and spent a few hrs on the mud drinking beer after missing the channel by 40m

« Sun Sep 16, 2018 5:03 pm »   Just got back from Finniss fresh ramp is fine a little drop at the end but u don't need to go that far in unless your in a huge boat.
« Sun Sep 16, 2018 2:20 pm »   cHEERS FELLAS
« Sun Sep 16, 2018 1:04 pm »   Yep ... better off on the old rock bar ramp to the right at hardies from july onwards, much better shade trees for the ute there too
« Sat Sep 15, 2018 2:34 pm »   hardies is a ripper
« Sat Sep 15, 2018 1:42 am »   Dannet , yep it'd be the same as every year ... the hole on the end of the ramp is caused by everyone flooring it to drive on the trailer then holding it there with half revs while they sort the D shackle out .. it's pretty common on most ramps ends up here nowadays, hardies lagoon is a ripper too.
« Fri Sep 14, 2018 10:04 pm »   tangels PM sent .

« Wed Sep 12, 2018 4:38 pm »   vibes
« Wed Sep 12, 2018 2:38 pm »   FISh shallow for big tides and deep on heaps coops, think you may struggle at fenton to get bottom unless you use a lot of weight then around the turns can be good
« Wed Sep 12, 2018 12:44 pm »   Thinking of spending a few days on the harbour. The next few days with the wind good early is it worth shooting out to fentons, south gutter etc for the morning high then get back in to try the flats?? Haven't fished the harbour on these big tides much

« Fri Sep 07, 2018 11:46 am »   You can spot small schools holding up against the rocks at low tide from the jetty if you wearing polarised sunnies.

« Thu Sep 06, 2018 12:10 pm »   Try burley off the rocks behind the nightcliff swimming pool on a dropping tide while you are at it throw out a live gar big queenies cruise past there. Make sure u are on the lower section of the rocks.
« Thu Sep 06, 2018 12:05 pm »   Gars come close at Lee point caught heaps in drag nets over the years if you want burley them you have to get your wind and tides right.

« Thu Sep 06, 2018 11:31 am »   Cheers fellas. Reckon this will work land-based around lee point?
« Thu Sep 06, 2018 10:33 am »   Or burley up a bit on your reef and add tuna oil ....theyll be there in minutes, tiny hooks on 6lb mono will get plenty of good sized ones
« Thu Sep 06, 2018 10:31 am »   Hit Nightcliff jetty at night burley up with bread and get someone who is handy with a net for fresh gar.
« Thu Sep 06, 2018 3:07 am »   How much tide do you need to get in and out of Buffalo Creek these days? Been a while since I last fished Shoal Bay
« Thu Sep 06, 2018 12:12 am »   Hey fellas, anywhere you get fresh gar around Darwin? Or do you just catch your own before heading out?
