« Sun Apr 22, 2018 2:57 pm »   Can anyone share some pointers on targeting queenfish around Darwin via boat. Keen on taking boat out and chasing them on surface lures but never seem to find them in large numbers. Do you chase on heaps when clarity is better like for mackies and tuna or work around springs. Thinking of working around West Point area and lee point reefs but trying to work out better tides and wether to focus around high or low. Any info will be much appreciated. Cheers

« Mon Apr 16, 2018 3:46 pm »   I would be calling this the start of the Dry. Plenty of dragonflies and a decent southeaster.

« Thu Apr 12, 2018 4:32 pm »   Sew them up a bit helps heaps with durability... but ones that have been hit sometimes wont take any more bites
« Thu Apr 12, 2018 4:26 pm »   Yes Tangels, best skip bait as the leathery skin holds them together for longer. Cairns fleet use them alot for the big girls too for that very reason.

« Tue Apr 10, 2018 11:36 am »   You'll have no worries down to 2metres ATM but if it's Barra you are chasing there are plenty of places fishing much better
« Tue Apr 10, 2018 8:20 am »   Anybody now what the lowest tide you can launch at Dundee is. Been hearing reports that you need 4 plus meters at the moment which dosent sound right.

« Mon Apr 09, 2018 7:57 pm »   .. bird billabong ck or upstream the mc kinlay r mouth and upper rockbars are pretty reliable spots too.
« Mon Apr 09, 2018 7:55 pm »   Downstream mostly is better and way more options. Any of the three differeent braches that make up Hardies are a classic example of the feeder creeks that flow "inwards "that I'm on about some have good landbased areas too
« Mon Apr 09, 2018 3:43 pm »   Flickin4em, are you talking about under bridge or upstream
« Mon Apr 09, 2018 2:35 pm »   Pick up a 69 y/o hitch hiker out at east alligator on the weekend, who had a massive blue with his brother. they were fishing the east for a few days and camping near cahills if you know this mob let me know. would like to know if he ended up alright.
« Mon Apr 09, 2018 2:13 pm »   Some of the creeks actually flow "in" as they fill lagoons or other creek arms still good spots tho.
« Mon Apr 09, 2018 1:23 pm »   Wazdog. You'll do fine if you've got 1/2 an idea. its bl..dy shallow over the sandbars so be careful and watch out for a big stump in there too
