« Wed Jul 19, 2017 10:08 am »   Marro, I tied up to Dinah Bch pontoon on the weekend and had to string my lines across to the other side. I saw Ken Vowles there and told him to have a look at the state it was in. He wasnt happy but i know its not his portfolio but maybe he could have a quiet word in the relevant dept ear
« Wed Jul 19, 2017 9:09 am »   what program does everyone use to upload pictures now that photobucket are charging?
« Wed Jul 19, 2017 8:07 am »   Re Dinah beach pontoon. Dept of Infrustructure advised that they are waiting on parts however the timeframe for their arrival and then repairs to be made is unknown. So it seems its just a case of wait and see.

« Mon Jul 17, 2017 5:08 pm »   Is the Clyde drill rig still out there.
« Mon Jul 17, 2017 10:10 am »   Does anyone know the lowest tide you can safely lauch and retrieve at Dundee now with the new ramp? Without worrying about getting bogged..
« Mon Jul 17, 2017 10:08 am »   Fishcatcher101. The left side as you look at the beach from the lodge : has plenty of accessible areas try on the incoming tide around the bigger ledges or on the upper part of the creeks as they get the first drop of the tide outgoing. all of the bait that seek refuge in them will be leaving the flats then getting nervous in the creek, any spot with a creek or decent rocks in a metre or 2 of water like that found around the stingray head area are prime areas but finniss river mouth area is the pick of them all by a mile...... you will be driving on the beach below the tide levels for a long way to get out here so prepare for bogging and carry an air compressor and recovery gear, also time the trip so as to be getting back before the creek starts to fill up as you exit the last beach or you'll be stuck out there for another tide cycle....which is not too bad unless you've run out of drinks :) there are multiple different ways to get there just turn the hema or google maps on and go for an explore and look around....
« Sun Jul 16, 2017 4:52 pm »   Some great spots to the north if you don't mind a long walk, small rocky outcrops and a creek. The best rocks to the south are near the ramp, fish high tide in the morning when calm for big barra, queenfish
« Sun Jul 16, 2017 4:50 pm »   You mean south of the boat ramp, landbased?
« Sun Jul 16, 2017 12:03 pm »   What are good spots to fish at Dundee beach??, prefferebly on the left side??
« Fri Jul 14, 2017 8:06 pm »   I spoke with a lady at AFANT this afternoon who suggested/requested I send an e-mail to both them and Dept of Infrastructure. That's easy enough so will do so tomorrow.
« Fri Jul 14, 2017 6:06 pm »   Dont need to Tristan. I sent an email and left a message with the person responsible. be interesting to see how long they take to repair it. Surely they have a maintenance program?
« Fri Jul 14, 2017 5:34 pm »   thats true Nomad, Marro call me at work on Monday. Im happy to help 8936 5680
« Fri Jul 14, 2017 2:38 pm »   Anyone know if you can drive to the rocks just north of Dundee ramp? Or is it restricted access?
« Fri Jul 14, 2017 2:26 pm »   PS Tristan, with your contacts you could have made one call and it would have more pull than us plebs :)
« Fri Jul 14, 2017 2:24 pm »   We all know that the only way to get any action is to advise of the problem in writing. Takes a few minutes more but, unlike a phone call, they have to act because you have a record, no record of phone calls. FYI - it’s the dept of infrastructure Marine safety branch. Anytime you have a problem with any govt dept, call the NT Govt switch and they will put you thru to the correct dept quickly.
« Fri Jul 14, 2017 1:08 pm »   yeah I reported it 2 months ago !!!! Still no action .
« Fri Jul 14, 2017 11:49 am »   Department of Transport takes care of that Marro
« Fri Jul 14, 2017 11:08 am »   @Marro, give AFANT a call and ask them to contact the relevant authority. Surely a state of disrepair presents a health and safety risk to the public.
« Fri Jul 14, 2017 11:07 am »   What I meant to say was when the tide is low there is only a couple of cleats left to tie your boat off. Who is responsible for maintaining the pontoon?
« Fri Jul 14, 2017 11:05 am »   The Dinah beach boat ramp pontoon is in a state of disrepair. there is only a couple cleats left to tie your boat off.
