Tell us a camping story. Let us guess? You left the cooking oil and bog roll at home ...

Did that Seano, fair bit of water came out, kept pumping and got what looked like mainly more water and taste tested water.

Light is staying on, so called insurance company to get a tow.

Lucky I got stuck near a bar.

You could put a bucket underneath, and take out the drain plug untill you only get fuel coming out.
Plug should be on the botttom rear of the tank.
Might be cheaper than a tow truck.

Thanks for the PM Olfart.

I just heard back from the operator where my car got towed to.

The Hilux has a big gutfull of water in the tank and needs draining and a flush, but no damage to injectors! Got told they are actually in quite good condition.

My workmate has recently had the same issue at Tennant Creek in the company Hilux only he wasnt so lucky. On his way to Alice Springs 80km out of Tennant and the same thing, on comes the light and the hilux went into shutdown. Appears that the injectors didnt come off that well either. A tow back to Tennant, a truck to Alice to Kittles and $5000 later and the hilux is ready today to be picked up. Clean and drained aal the water from the the tank, cleaned all the fuel lines and filters and pump and replaced the injectors.
He gets his fuel from a servo with green colours on it in Tennant and when he asked them about water in the diesel of course they are like Sargent Shulsze and know nothing.

After changing my injectors out, I put a secondary fuel filter with an water sensing alarm wired to the dash. The factory filters are sh!t and by the time the warning light comes on the injectors are usually stuffed. You got lucky mate! Do a search on here, there is a fairly detailed post somewhere.
