If you can have a look at "All 4 adventure" episodes where they went there. Looks awesome and a hell heap of fun but it would be pretty tough country

Lorella Springs
Still haven't got around to getting the box sets yet, think the wife might have the coming via Santa for me this year..
Pretty keen to take the patrol out for some fun, been a while since my last trip.. Hopefully there will be a couple families doing it together..

Rhett, the guy that runs Lorella is really laid back he told us we were free to go where ever we wanted on the property so there's plenty of scope for 4wd fun off the beaten track

Re: Lorella Springs
Hey guys,
Looks like I have a 10 day trip planned in August
Three 4wds and 2 boats.. 470
Top Ender and 460 renegade..
Sounds like there is some great fishing to be had along with some awesome 4wding..
Had a few beers with the all 4 adventure crew the other night and they reckon the creeks just south of the mouth are the way to go so we will see how we go...
Anyone got any idea what tide chart to use for the river, been told little movement but you need the high tide to navigate out to to the mouth..
Cheers

think they might mean creeks to the north of the mouth, there's only two creeks between rosie and mule creek to the south, but heaps to the north, you'll struggle with those boats on anything but just either side of high tide to get to the mouth of rosie from the camp ground and some days there'll only be the one high tide to navigate with. West island tides next wed high 10.14 am 1.5m- low 8.54pm 0.4m, friday is a classic high 12.31 am 0.6m - low 2.16 am also 0.6m, high 11.15 am 1.5 low 9.49pm 0.5m. West island isn't a real long way as the crow flies from the mouth of rosie but the times up near the camp ground are another story as it takes ages for the water to push up the creek over the rockbars. I think if they went another decimal place the tides on the friday it would be a high 0.68 low 0.60 I'm guessing.
lots of strange tides out that way, all part of the fun

Not making me real excited about taking the boats out... I don't wanna name the creek but it was defiantly to the south lol.. Basically you have a 50/50 chance lol..itsinmeblood wrote:think they might mean creeks to the north of the mouth, there's only two creeks between rosie and mule creek to the south, but heaps to the north, you'll struggle with those boats on anything but just either side of high tide to get to the mouth of rosie from the camp ground and some days there'll only be the one high tide to navigate with. Re: Lorella Springs
Ive got a 470 topender but i took a 3m tinny to rosie creek and i had to walk that tinny over the rocks a few times
It would be a disaster to take those big boats imo
The only option maybe to leave a big boat down stream of the 17 rock bars and take a tinny from the camp to reach it
Cheers bm

Re: Lorella Springs
loads of small jacks near the camp ground, not much else while we were there but I did hear of some guys that fished it in april, got in via mule creek ramp and they got good barra landbased around the camp...none of this info was first hand though, as Tim said a shuttle boat would be the go, or bushbash a track downstream even better
interesting about the creek to the south, one of the two is joined to rosie and is navigable from there at high tide but the time we tried it wasn't possible and howling sou easters kept us in rosie and the bank launch in the creeks to the north where the fishing was also heaps better than rosie
