Re: Most bugs fixed - any more?
Could you add a "go to top" button to each thread?

This is just cut and pasted from my status box.....MidnightCoder wrote:You're showing as last active on September 13th (yesterday) on my end. I'm not sure what's going on with your account, but I see nothing out of the ordinary at all.
"Last visit was: Sun Sep 12, 2010 3:33 pm

It is currently Tue Sep 14, 2010 4:01 pm
All times are UTC + 9:30 hours"
And i've been on a few times today and yesterday.........

OK, just so you're understanding how this works. It will only reset when you manually click logout and then log back in. Just dropping in, closing your browser, and coming back later will not reset anything.sarrge wrote:And i've been on a few times today and yesterday.........
I'm pretty sure that last visit time is the last time you manually logged in, so this may be accurate in that context.
As far as the impact this has on you, there's two ways to handle it:
1. Manually logging out and back in should reset the View New Posts
2. Marking the forums as read should reset the View Unread Posts
What exactly are you experiencing that is causing your last active date to be such an issue if it's behind by a day? (or however long since you actually logged in)
BTW, my "last visit" date in the sidebar is showing Sept. 02. I've been steadily logged in on this account since then...

Aaahh
Now me understanding.
On the old system, it used to update that date and time to when i was actually online withoput logging out. Selecting "show new posts" would only show the new posts since the last visit.
I figured this should do the same. Now i know it doesn't.....no problem!
Thanks

Re: Most bugs fixed - any more?
Glad that helped. One of the major beefs that people had with phpbb2 was that closing your browser window (ending the session) resulted in the loss of all unread post data. Now that that's been fixed in phpbb3, it does tend to confuse people at first, because it requires action on the user's part to clear the unread data (logging out, deleting cookies, or marking the forums/posts as read).
Really, the new system is better, in that you can close the window, come back later, and still find the remainder of unread posts from last time.

Hey david, I tried to write a comment on Shane Doevys blog and it crashed. Not sure if it is just his blog, or all the blogs or just me.

Crashed how? When something like this happens I need to see what the actual error is, preferably copied and pasted here. What exactly did it do?
Btw, working on your blog posts now. Just a handful up so far, but you can take a look. Please don't go editing them today, as I'm still in there, but after that you can tweak them as needed.

My blog my take a bit in it.
when I go to put a comment in, it just goes stright to the page that you see on the net when your net has dropped out or something.
"The page cannot be displayed"
As i said it might be my net, I am not sure if anyone else has tried.

http://fishingterritory.com/blogs/shane ... s/#respond
This is the blog, but it might be just me as it has happened to a few things I have tried to reply to.
For example it would come up with the same error trying to post here in the quick reply, and the only way I could put up a reply would be to go to post reply.

Re: Most bugs fixed - any more?
It does seem to be on your end, or an intermittent issue. I can help you troubleshoot it a bit, but you'll need to provide some information about your connection.
ISP:
type of ISP (e.g. dialup/dsl/cable/satellite):
Are you behind a router?
What operating system do you use?
What browser do you use?
What security software, including pop up blockers, ad blockers, script blockers do you use?
What other security software, including firewall, antivirus, etc do you use?
Does the problem persist if you use a different browser?
You don't have to fill all this out, of course, but if you want to try to narrow it down I'll help.

Re: Most bugs fixed - any more?
Not sure if it's an actual bug, but when I try sending PM's.......... they sit in my Outbox and don't actually send?
Any advice?
Ahhhh, ignore this. I have just had it explained to me what the go is.
Cheers, Justin.
