Saw you at an ally fab place the other day. Was going to say hello but you were standing in your boat scratching and shaking your head with the console lol

Lol. Yeah Lats, the bending all came together perfectly but I forgot to allow for the two 45's at the front when I did the measurements so it ended up too wide. The half dozen comments I copped during the time I was in the boat about the console being too wide didn't help my temper either. The console now has a strongback down the centre that I meant to be there..... Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it anyway.

Anyway, changing the subject here's some important stuff, rodholder placement.

Yeah cutting the holes was painful but will hopefully future proof it a bit by being a standard rocker switch size in case of any failures.

After seeing the great progress in Deepblacks recent posts I thought I would shout him a nice Flat White and see the work for myself.

John proudly brought out the Lowrance HDS12 touch and his brand new Carbon 12 and proceeded to show me how they fitted snugly in recess at the top of his console. Superb craftsmanship with the ally fabrication saw both displays sitting side by side in their temporary placement.

Now, to cut a long story short, Big Cluster F@#K me decides to place my hand on the Jesus bar on top of the console to lean on......
Console teeters
Console totters
Out falls HDS12 touch onto the ground
Out falls brand new Carbon 12 onto the ground.
Johns flat white gets spilled over both sounders
Only saving grace was that both displays had their fascia covers on and there seemed to be no damage.
:banghead: :bricks: :bricks: :bricks:

I kept 20 foot from the rest of his gear for the remainder of my visit.
Sincere apologies John. Hopefully no damage done.

Cheers
