Took the little punt down to Elizebeth River last night to try the motoguide XI5 out for the first time and I was impressed with how it handled the current on spot lock and got a nice chrome barra while we were playing with it

New minnkotas sound the goods. Glad I held off now. Looking forward to upgrading one of these in a few months.

They speculated on these late last year, said they should be out second quarter, so I was waiting too. Glad i did.

I bought a motor guide last year and it's been back into the shop twice now. It's awesome when it works but it's a bit temperamental, I think the new motor guide will be the goods

I'm very happy with my motorguide so far. The new Kotas look the goods, but I reckon they won't be cheap!

I'll give this a little nudge as Jack Attack (formally known as G Fish, stop it) has allowed himself to become a little amorous with his/her keyboard.

Anyone have a personal review on the new 2017 MK Riptide Terrova?

I was about to buy one, but just did the engine in the Patrol..... Looks like I'll be on rope anchor for a while longer yet.

Read on other forums new MK’s Ulterra Auto Stow have heaps of issues.

Has anyone bought one of these?

I went for the MG & ist been awesome - but the shaft needs extending to 80inch.

Cards, I know someone who has had one for 6 months and loves it. However he took a stack of water over the bow on a bluewater recently, and now its playing up and is in for repair.

Most owners are very complimentary of their MGs. I'm particularly interested in the reported (by MK) improvements to the spot lock behaviour, which is reported as best in class in the 2017 models. They now include the jog feature that matches MG and of interest to me is the spot lock button now on the foot pedal albeit at additional cost.
I'm familiar with the 'spasms' that the pre 2017 MKs were prone to while on spot lock and assume this is where they have focussed most of their R&D to bridge the gap with MG pin point. Probably shouldn't believe the hype until an actual review from someone who has owned and used both new and previous models.
