That seems a little complex, can we go through that again?

No probs
Basically, don’t take your car into water or it could end up as a boat.
You never know whats under the surface, like big rocks that may stop you. Once you're stopped you're buggered

there are plenty of floating cars in Qld now

Hi Brad whats doin?

I agree with "dont cross" rather than "do cross" when it comes to deep crossings but...

I bought my troopie for this exact reason, heavy car with the ability to make it heavier and ive had lots of boats
float and move the trailer while crossing a river but they never move the car.
Ground clearance is a factor too but i think the biggest problem is the speed of the current,
gotta know what your doin :?

Ahh the magela crossing. I used to hang out to get across that crossing and s bends so we could get to the east.

We went across in my diesel rodeo @ .9m - no snorkel and a vehicle that doesn't sit that high.

I used a tarp across bonnet, bow wave was higher than bonnet but it was lower in the wake of the wave.

No problems apart from wet carpets. Fishing was fantastic.

Can we just take the warning stickers off everything and let natural selection take its place, I mean if its spinning fast dont put your fingers in it..... Its not hard

You'll have to excuse the photo I took it on my Phone but this is a pic of that blue hilux at Cahills Crossing on its roof in the water.. dont think that thing was recoverable! You'd be dodging some rather large crocs :croc:

nice piece of structure for the fish to hang around
makes you wonder though why you would attempt Cahills if it was getting up that high, especially in a lightish dual cab..the tide absolutely rips through there.. I'm not keen on swimming with crocs I'd rather be Inconvenienced then dead! :croc:

That's another Pic with the tide more up can only just see the tyres sticking out

That's all well and good but I'll bet the air to air intercooler was not working as designed.
