Saddletail Seaperch. White edging on tail etc give it away. The actual dark "saddle" on the wrist of the tail is not very defined up here.

Chanos is right, Helen Larsen says it is a saddletail perch

Red fish or we call them dobbers..... :banghead: because when you throw them back the rest of the fish seem to go off the bite.

Good to hear that we got the species sorted out... I'll always be confused though. My book says a Crimson Sea Perch is also known as a Saddle Tail but the picture illustrating the saddle tail is significantly different. The same book also says a saddle tail is known a scarlet sea perch :???: :???: :???: :???:

Oh well, they're all some kind of red perch that's for sure!
