Random fish at shady.

Post by goldfish »

Was looking through some of my old pics and found this one, does anyone know what this fish I got a fair few years back is ?
How big do they get? Are they any good to eat?

It's nearly transparent like a paper fish. Not much of a fight on 20lb fireline though...
Took a 5 in blue storm placcy on shady camp barrage no 2 salt side if memories serve me correctly. :drinking28:

:catch:

:fishy: :fishy: :fishy: :fishy: :fishy: :fishy: :fishy:

Hope that face paint doesn't break some sort of political correctness law ...

Bacon is right. Dunno if they are tasty but if John West canned them I am sure they would be nice smashed on toast :D

They are good to eat when I worked with the pro out there in the 70's we used to get a few hooked up in the nets from the river. The male has a hook on the top of their head so were more proned to getting caught. The male carries the eggs on their hook.

Dipped in flower and placed into hot oil in a pan they come out crunchy, yumo.

Cheers grumpy

Yeah, nursery fish. Rare on lure! There's an american guy who studies them on the Adelaide River, fascinating fish.
