November fishing

Post by Matt Flynn- »

November gets a bit tricky for barramundi because the big storms can change conditions quickly.
The storm wind and rain can quickly cool down the flats and billabongs, and I am sure barramundi are affected by the quickly changing water conditions.
On the other hand storms can get the fish going - the rain can flush off the exposed mudflats and get prawns up and feeding, and the barra follow.
Salmon seem to do well during storms - they are real prawn feeders so anything that stirs up prawns gets them going.
Storms are therefore a mixed blessing, but it's always best not to be out in a boat when the lightning is coming down - NT fishermen have been hit by lightning.
