Looks like the NYSE has got Trump sorted.

Trump goes bananas on any weekend with his tweeting sending irrational messages all over the place.

The NYSE traders have been taking hits on Mondays when the world reacts to Trumps crazy utterings.

So..... they've been selling off on Fridays before the great man gets full of stagger juice and frustration starts tweeting. Then they're buying back in on Mon arvo or Tues morning at lower stock prices after the stocks finish their usual post-weekend dip.

Be interesting to have a look at Trumps stock holdings.

Ours has been following suit.

The world’s No 1 nutter’s latest rant “They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen”
Hopefully it’s just another one of his crazy tirades and, like the other promises, that he doesn’t follow thru. Remember that the US is THE ONLY country that has dropped nukes on anyone.
Trouble is that the bloke that he is baiting is the world’s no 2 nutter

He doesn’t realise that saying poop like that cant be withdrawn

I don't believe this is simply "tough talk".

The yanks mean it.

I'd say its shut-up time for this crazy N Korean who seems hell bent on twisting the tiger's tail once too often.

If he fires those missiles anywhere near Guam, it'll be on for young and old.

You can bet that the US has each and every one of those fixed ICBM sites as first cabs off the rank.

The mobile launchers will be harder to find but they've done it before in Iraq.

There'll be some collateral damage in S Korea and Japan but this guy will go if missiles are fired anywhere near Guam.

I wouldn't be surprised if his own side takes him out to prevent any retaliation that will most certainly come if Guam is targeted.

The Chinese have tolerated this family regime as they didn't want the US sitting on their border. N Korea is a buffer zone between China and the US.

You can bet that the US and China have been talking about what might follow should this guy provoke the world too much. It's not only the US under direct threat but S Korea and Japan as closest neighbours.

Appeasement simply doesn't work. (Hitler, Mussolini, Saddam Hussein and Colonel Gadaffi)

Gadaffi tried it on and got a bomb through the palace roof. He behaved himself from that point on. We know what happened to the others eventually.

We sure are living in interesting times.

I just read the history of North Korea, and why NK hates the USA. It is fascinating.

North Korea was basically levelled by the USA in the Korean War because NK was communist. They copped more bombs than the US dropped in the Pacific theatre in WWII, as well as a huge amount of napalm. Senior military people said they had never seen such destruction.

There wasn't even an end to the war, just a cease fire.

That's why NK people hate the USA, and why Kim gets credit points with his people when he faces off to the USA. They felt the need to get nukes in the 1980s.

Now I know the NK leadership is terrible, but imagine if all Australian cities were levelled and napalmed by the USA because we didn't like Turnbull et al and had voted to go communist.

It's a crazy mean world.

Not quite Matt.

NK was indeed going communist but what started the Korean War was that the communist north (egged on by China) invaded the south.

The US led a UN force to push them back and succeeded only too well. The NK communists were pushed back well north of the 38th parallel towards the China border.

China invaded N Korea with a view to not having the UN on their border.

That pushed the UN forces (including Australia) back to the 38th parallel where a stalemate developed and a truce signed. There was no victory for anybody and the war was never declared over.

Since then the communist NK turned into family dictatorship and started thumbing its nose at the world under its big brother's (China) mantle.

This time NK might not find big brother inclined to guarantee anything.

Might even be a bit of horse trading going on over the Spratleys (maybe).

The Korean War was the tipping point where Douglas MacArthur's ambitions to become US president fell apart. Truman sacked him.

Yes, the north invaded the south in response to the south cracking down on northern rebels, or something like that.

Either way, only happened because they were commies!

On Trump's election, everyone said (half jokingly) he would start a nuclear war ...

Easiest way to tell if it is going to happen is if Trump is buying shares in weapons makers :D :D :D

The warnings in the 50's were 'Get down low and Go Go Go "

If a nuclear war ever starts, the experts all agree that you should gather your family into one room, push all of the tables and chairs against the windows. Then sit in the centre of the room and put your head between your knees and kiss your arse goodbye.

In reality, we wont know if a missile lands here until its too late.

No one would be stupid enough to fire nukes, unless they had no choice or were a psychopathic narcissist. Hang on a sec ...

Might be someone's grand idea to solve global warming, create a nuclear winter and lower the global population.

Guam is 3300 km away from Korea and they have about 17 minutes to respond if the nuke gets launched. We are about 5500 km away so in reality you have nearly 30 minutes to get as far south as possible. That is of course if you now about it when it gets launched and Darwin is the confirmed target. And at best both of those things will take 10 minutes to happen. Oh and Tindal is a good target too, so good luck with heading south.

BUT – you need to be aware that it’s on the way. so unless you are listening to the radio, tv etc, you will never know

the blast travels a bit faster than most cars

I will stick with sitting in the middle of the room and kissing my arse goodbye

Exactly. And you have to be ready to go right then. No time to pick up the kids from school. I think the news will spread very quickly if it happens, you won't need to have it on to find out.

The initial blast can etch your shadow into concrete for all to see in memorial so if you are outside when a missile lobs be sure to hold your gut in.
