Found this little fellow at Bare Sandy Island - quite a few were hatching. The flatback turtles don't seem to mind people at all, digging nests between tents at times. I have heard rumours that the green movement might push for Bare Sandy to become a no access zone to get rid of fishermen. It's one of very few island anchorages we have near Darwin!

I heard a rumour that the Air Force had closed the area now as they were doing bombing in the area and that there were now unexploded bombs in the area. Matt maybe you can follow up on this? This came from a reliable source who is part of the trailer boat club and as you would now they visit the island alot.
