Quite a few deaths in NSW, dunno if they have some Delta or it is sheer number of Omicron. Pretty grim, the let it rip approach has hurt a lot of people.

So my family got the lurgy a month ago. Only one of us tested positive, who was also the worst affected, and that was the person who was also the most vaccinated (booster level).

I was the least vaccinated with two shots six months apart and I also had the most risk factors. COVID just gave me a tickle in my throat and some chest and muscle pain. I tested negative but I was constantly exposed to the worst affected person so I assume I had it, I made no effort to quarantine from my family as I felt I had the lurgy by the time that person tested positive.

Maybe the vaccine helped us, maybe not.

People are calling scam and other things but the simple fact is we all were lucky the lurgy mutated to the highly infectious Omicron, which is milder than Delta. If Delta had ripped through on that same infectious level the vaccines would have looked like a better option, the vax also worked better on Delta, apparently.

Most people had the vaccines without problems. Some had major problems. What I didn't mention is that I had a severe nose bleed about two weeks after each Pfizer shot, I went to hospital for the second one because the bleed wouldn't stop. I have not otherwise had nose bleeds for years. I also have permanent damage in my left eye from the first shot.

My approach now is just to get exposed often to maintain immunity. Might be a mug idea. I will get flu shots etc as usual but I am not having another COVID vaccine unless the technology changes or a more deadly COVID mutation kicks off.

The takeaway from it all for me is how the vax injuries were suppressed and those injured were made to feel like loons. I didn't want to put people off the vax in case I was just unlucky. Unfortunately vax injury forums on social media were often quarantined or closed. The mad anti-vaxers and conspiracy theorists didn't help as they lobbed in these forums along with the genuine injured people.

Only now is it becoming clearer that there are quite a few vax injuries, these people should not be left in limbo thanks to "no liability" clauses.

I've been bush camping in remote areas for the past 7 mths in SA and now in sthn NT.
I came to Alice Springs to attend the Finke Desrert race and went to the street party with 10 000 of my new best friends.
I had booked a Dr appointment to renew my prescriptions. Before the Dr appointment, they asked if I had a runny nose etc and I replied yes, thinking it was just a cold from the freezing temps here.
I had a PCR test and the following day got a call to say I was positive and that I had to isolate.
I'm out of iso tomorrow and have had very minor symptoms. Fully vaxxed incl booster. No affects from any vaxxes

they called me twice to check my progress (she advised that the original variant is no longer in aust)

Was talk about it early on being like an airborne AIDS in terms of what it does to your immune system, there is some truth to this, this study says COVID reduces T cells more than HIV ... https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... ocytopenia

Appears there will be ongoing complications from COVID for many people. Might explain the monkeypox outbreak and the bad flu season (or not).

Suggests masks would help in public settings, no one wants to do it though.

Says here each time you catch COVID it gets worse, looks like exposing yourself to it for immunity is not a good idea ... https://www.researchsquare.com/article/rs-1749502/v1

EDIT: Paper is a preprint, not yet peer reviewed. Nonetheless interesting. Does seem to be plenty of social scuttlebutt of second infections sometimes being worse.

The cat is well and truly out of the bag now, top Aussie doc and her partner reveal their severe symptoms from the COVID vaccine, much the same symptoms that I reported originally ... https://www.news.com.au/technology/scie ... f852a382cf

Online forums I have used to discuss the vaccine side effects with others have been "quarantined" or outright closed, these forums were considered to be spreading misinformation.

Unfortunately there is general anti-vax lunacy mixed in with genuine discussion of problems with the rushed COVID vaccines, so it is complicated.

In my own small circle of vaxed people ...

One person (me) with damaged eye. Also nerve issues that healed. Major nose bleed after both needles.
One person with damaged eye, internal eye bleed that required surgery.
One person developed severe rheumatic issues, had to quit music because could no longer play guitar (EDIT, has recovered with treatment).
One person with a kidney bleed, blood detected in urine but recovered.

On a global scale, there is large percentage of excess deaths being reported from mixed causes, the reason is not yet understood.

Lastly, the most vaccinated person in my family also got the worst case of COVID.

Vax probably saved many lives but this came at a cost.

Meanwhile ... https://www.news.com.au/world/asia/ther ... f7d99c998d

I was watching that Dr Campbell through to covid years, he was very informative without the conspiracies just the data. That is a few issues in your small circle Matt, compound that number with everyone's small circle and then you get alot of issues. i must be one of the lucky ones, most people around me have caught covid, some worse than others. I have yet to catch it and unvaxed.
he fishes he fishes he fishes its the only thing in life all he ever gets is hell from his fed up wife
