Another 400 cases in the last 24 hours for the NT so the NT Gov no longer has the control it thought it had :D

There's a very blurry line at the moment between jokes and harmful misinformation

Tragic sub here, full of vocal anti-vaxxers who died ...

Wife just had her booster, daughter had her first, no issues. Even if you do get side effects, better than dying.

Is ripping thru Tasmania now. All the tourists spreading it around the state :D

Anyone else got/had the lurgy?

I agree and it was not my intention to offend anyone. Even the anti everything brigade.

I’m (pro) fully vaccinated and suffered the effects of fatigue mostly, after the 2nd one.

I just think it’s time to let this version run its course while the authorities chase their tails around silently instead of forcing more businesses to the ground.

Yeah it must be really tough on small businesses. I wonder if there's any further assistance being planned

It's going to be an interesting couple of months

I'd say the Djokovic situation sums up this whole adventure over the past 2 years - seems to me something aint right here.

On one hand we're preached to about the deadly seriousness of any infraction with this bug, and how it's gunna run amok if we're nearby an infected person for more than 4 hours, but not 3 hours 55 minutes. etc, etc

We've all heard the many stories of fully vaxx'd, positive testing people not being able to travel interstate to spend final hours with dying family, etc, etc

Then we have the unvaxx'd sportsperson waltz in, and all of a sudden our health "experts" (and I use the word loosely), politicians, and legal system all telling us - "move on - nothing to see here".

After this very strange string of events, how can any of us take seriously anything said by those who apparently know better??

Yes, the things we have been told. The bulldust has come thick and fast from every corner, no one side has had a monopoly.

Some of the classics ...

"Masks don't work" (early on from WHO, trying to save mask supply for medics).
"Kids don't get COVID" (Qld health chief).
"It's just a flu" (from some national leaders).
"The vax(s) are safe and effective" vs "the vax's are dangerous/contain 5G chips" vs "those who had genuine bad side effects"
"Ivermectin works/ivermectin doesn't work"
"We need to open up for the economy vs its natural selection/let it rip vs freedom etc"
"Covid19 has a proof-reading enzyme so it probably won't mutate much"

yada yada

Very hard on leaders though, the stress would be profound, at least among those who give a sh.t.

Panic buying in full swing, again ... https://www.news.com.au/finance/busines ... 534358b978

Pictures on social media show empty shelves but still plenty of tofu.

Adapting to new information and evidence is a virtue, I'd be p...ed if we hadn't been so flexible and responsive

There has been a big sacrifice from lots of people, interesting times for sure

Got my positive result this arvo

They opened up Tassie on Dec 15 and it started ripping through the state almost immediately, but there are still zero cases in ICU ... https://www.facebook.com/HealthTas/

This data might bring some relief as Omicron spreads.

Pandemic is probably done after this wave has peaked, we will be living with Omicron like we live with the flu. A good communicator here explains the latest data, he's been an interesting source of info through the pandemic ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3W84wb5jKo
