Your first barra?

Post by Matt Flynn »

Everyone remembers their first barra ...

Mine was in the first or second set of rapids in Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk), it came out from under a ledge in running water to hit a lure, was a brilliant way to get barra No.1, even if it was only 40-50cm.

I reckon I seen you theodosius at 4 mile. I was in the grey stabi. My wife was having a chuckle at the young fella taking his hat off and you putting it back on a few times.

My first Barra that I remember (possible my first legal Barra) was after a thousand cast on the daly up stream out of some timber.

1982 off the bank at Buff creek on a hand line with a piece of squid (probably had a bit of help landing it, I was only 4).

Mine was such a long time ago it was 5kg. No body measured them in cm back then because it was all about the line class which was also in kg and not cm
It was in Aug 1993 at Gladstone power station hot water outlet.
how many is enough lures, rods and reels. Is there a magic number, considering you usually only catch 1 fish on a single lure on the one rod and reel your casting with.
