Barra Central

Post by Lats »

Without a doubt it was the best barra fishing I've ever experienced. All caught out and around Shady and 95% caught on Reidys Big B52 and Big Ass B52 in kryptonite, M15, H-GB and 008 colours. Met some great new deckys. Plenty of laughs, poop wet nights and mozzies.

Ticked off quite a few goals and firsts.
firsts.
1. First time ever caught 2 barra over 90cm in a single trip. Actually did it 5 times 8). The trip i did with Theodosius we scored 5 in the 90's, 10 more 85-89 and 12 more 71 and under

2. First barra tea bagging a plastic over a branch

3. First barra strolling. Did it 4 times and I've got a 100% success rate. Lost a few monsters too

4. First night trolled barra. Actually caught a few that way. One trip we started fishing at 6am and didn't finish until 2am the next morning.

5. And got my second ever metery and new PB. That was the 7th and last trip. I wasn't going back for the 7th trip but glad I did as we also got 2 x 92cm and 2 x 91cm fish

Total barra count was
2 x meterys
13 x 90's
15 x 80's
12 x 71 and under

Here are just some of the photos

Well done Lats and Co. :applause:

Congrats on your 2nd metrey mate it makes all the hard work, hours of trolling, sunburn, wet bum bodgey trips and big miles all worth it ...

Some other good ones in there too ...

Despite the hammering that it gets out there nowadays it's still a top spot to get onto a few good fish. Pity it doesn't glass out like that on the way back in too often. I can't believe that they're gonna spend a fortune to mess up the ramp just so we can watch muppets getting bogged in the silt it will be full of next year in their cr.p 4wds or town cars while waiting to line up twice as long to launch and retrieve...

Probably a bit of luck as well. Mutiple trips over different tides and observing water colour and bait helps
