Sounds a bit sus , not assuming anything but a boat on fire and no report to police,, hmmmm
or have I read that wrong ?????????

bottom of the article states; mechanic did notify about the fire, but there was a communication breakdown to water police apparently.
"The NT New s understands the mechanic did report the incident, but it was unclear why the message was not properly relayed to water police."

Yep and I can't understand why the Police were unimpressed ,it's their job if they don't want to do it get out and let someone in there that does. If it had have cost someone their life would they be impressed then or if they had saved someone would they be pouting their chests and looking for a pat on the back.
I hope that coment was just typical NT news sensationalising
