Access to Manton Dam for AFANT members

Post by tristan.sloan »

If your an AFANT member, AFANT has received a key from NT Parks and Wildlife for our members to use to accesses the locked gate at Manton Dam.

Recreational fishing can only be conducted during the hours of 12:30am to 7am as NT Parks Rangers will be using high powered rifles in the evening on the Dam and do not want ANY people on the Dam during this time period. It is likely NT Parks will re-open the dam to rec fishers on Sat morn (daylight hours only).

Please contact the AFANT office to access the key.

For further information on the Manton Dam closure the senior ranger Peter Kennedy can be contacted on (08) 8988 6310 , Mob: 0429152194, Sat. Ph: 0147163167

Key???
I lived out there for years until 6 months ago and the place has never been locked at anytime. Been there countless times after hours.

I understand a gate was put up and locked on Thursday last week by NT parks Scottie. I understand rec fishing was allowed back in during daytime hours on Saturday. Best person to call on this is Peter Kennedy on the above number.
