Gold Coast got a significant rain. In Brisbane I never seen such a beat up by media and government over a day of heavy rain since let me see ..... the last time a cyclone came within a thousand km of Darwin. It makes you wonder how survived 10 or 15 years ago without them wrapping us in bubble wrap. In floods of old they would call on the radio for volunteers to help businesses now you have to close schools and businesses and not put a toe outside. Just bizarre they will get to the stage where clear thinkers take no notice if the keep this up and bugger all happens.
It does look like an eye and we were in it at Cleveland for not much effect.

It was in full swing last night ... and this morning gone.
Sorry to hear you got hammered Sullo, was a fair drop in the wind between Hamilton Island and Prossie thankfully.

Re: Will rain from Qld cyclone cut across NT?
The piccy says it all ... and 532mm measured at Undercliff just south of Mackay.
Should perk the East Coast fishing up a bit for the rest of the year.

I'd suggest we're already there - good on those that refused to let the hype have them running off/forced evacuation.AM wrote: I never seen such a beat up by media and government over a day of heavy rain since let me see ..... the last time a cyclone came within a thousand km of Darwin. Between the electronic media, people who love to wind things up on social media & those grandiose dudes that run around in their orange overalls getting their jollies off playing with all their (our) toys ,we end up with tropical storms turning into 'weather events' - as we saw here only a few weeks ago ....
