hope that you all stay safe and ride out this storm (cyclone) as you Territorians can, but after seeing what Huey can dish up like he did here in sth east qld. with tragic results,I can only watch from a distance, but know my thoughts are with you all

Was at work today, still working from home and will continue to do so untill i can get back into the offiice. I dont expect anyone to race out and cut the trees down or do anything for that matter, all my staff are home. My tree lopper was keen to get them down or at least make them safe when he was here this morn but unfortunetly my insurance company wanted a quote before they would let anything happen.. they knew what the situation was from the start, they could have just said they wont cover it and i could have had them cut down today. Im not that bothered by it, just think its a bit annoying. I can find the money to pay for them to be removed later on and it is good to know any damage they cause will be covered. One has already landed on his roof and his insurance is paying for it to be removed and repair any damage.
Thanks for the offer of help but given the angle the trees are on and the possible damage done removing them i think i will just wait and pay for some one with some insurance to remove them.. I can only imagine if i get stuck into the trees and they come down and damage something insurance wont cover it.. Thanks heaps though!

This cyclone has them guessing what its going to do. Seems very hard to predict. Every time a new advice comes out its prediction is very different from the last.

If you think the tree is a serious risk, contact emergency services. Anyways stay safe and good luck.

I'm getting cabin fever already, and I've been stuck in this cabin long before it started raining :P

East Point is trashed, big trees down everywhere, small river over the road, and flooding.

City sewage systems probably running straight into the harbour (just a non-technical guess).

Bwahaha, yes, and probably a non-issue at the moment given the dilution factor. Apparently Darwin has had all-time record rain.

Got some big trees right outside our place, all good as long as she blows westerly, not so good if north-easterly :P

Its very patchy. Down the road is pouring rain and windy then 1km away its calm and hardly raining then back at home its windy again.

Now where would you expect proper Territorians to be during a Cyclone, you guessed it, fishing somewhere, with a beer!
most people i have ever seen at Howard river i reckon, obviously reading the Forum about those fish caught there today, water means fish!

Did look nice though! Water has dropped a bit, but still plenty flowing everywhere!
