There is a near-stationary low centred just south of Lake Argyle, WA, with a good bit of spin on it, and it's already pushing rain over the Top End.

Will it drift west, or will it drift north, power up and do another Carlos?

Looks to me like it is moving north ... http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR071.loop.shtml

Either way, it is bringing rain. Poncho and bilge pump sales must be going through the roof.

Perfect.

As long as it gets over there befor the 19th. Hopefully it will dump a shitt load more rain and then drag all the weather away far enough to give us some good flat creek mouths. If not its going to be a very :sailing: ride for me. :surf: :surf:

Still plenty of rain an water about. The Daly is still too high, I know that.

But I guess the big question will be is when the road to the ramp will open. I have heard it has copped some damage from the floods and it will be a while.

Anyone got any insights on this

I heard the same Dingo. I had to organise a permit to go there this week for work because of the roads. I will see if I can check it out, or Ill ask some of the locals what they reckon about the road opening.

Competitors in the Barra Nats won’t be able to moor their boats over night (ie retrieve via the ramp) because the pontoon is damaged (so I heard)

Lastest guff -

Quote:
Potential Cyclones:
The monsoon trough lies over the Kimberley, connecting to a weak tropical low
[22U] near the WA/NT Border. The low is expected to drift slowly to the
southwest over the next few days, remaining weak and over land.

Likelihood of this low being a tropical cyclone in the Western Region:
Sunday :Very Low
Monday :Very Low
Tuesday :Very Low

Going fishing in the car park this arvo
