Nah leather needle and a $100 machine does the trick if you go slowly and use a walking foot. I've made bags for my bimini sides and pizza oven too now and have another order of pvc tarp on the way

I'm in the process of fixing up my trailer now, hot work in the sun

Went for a landbased fish today while letting the primer on my trailer dry

Spotted some barra feeding on herring but could only tempt a cod

Took my handspear out to try to nail one of those barra but they weren't there yesterday

Trailer is almost back in business, just got to put the number plate back on and fine tune the brakes

The weather is heating up, barra should be on the chew soon

Engine was running rough around the tip of Gunn Point so instead of heading to the Vernons/Tiwis we turned around and fished Shoal Bay. We got about 15 barra, mostly small and this little muddy which I picked up walking the edges of a lock-in pool

Turns out the rough running was just spark plugs which is great. Apparently it is a known issue with the Yam 115 and 130.

I took the boat out to the Bay for a high tide run the other morning and got 10 barra to just under 70cm. Missed a couple of cracking threadies and home by 11. Water was much dirtier than expected- looks like the dry season crystal is already disappearing.

I forgot my hat in my excitement to head out fishing and had to improvise with a t-shirt and a reidies vibe packet...

Good stuff thanks for sharing! When you say Bay, are you talking Shoal Bay?
Are you launching from Buff? I hate buff ramp otherwise I would spend more time fishing shoal bay myself

Yeah Buff ramp is mostly pretty good but the solo retrieves are hairy on some parts of the tide

I have no issues with the Buff Ck ramp itself, but access in and out of the creek into the Bay has become very problematic. Rather than hijack Theo’s thread here, I’ll comment further over on a separate post.

Bashed through the afternoon chop into the bay recently to be greeted with dead calm and clear blue water. The snags near the Rock were stacked with what looked like schools of plate sized scat? Sight casted a few barra which was unexpected given how rough it had been on the way over. Later that evening I got a few big barra, biggest was 94 which hit so hard. This is the second fish this size that I've caught not hooked but with the lure jammed sideways in the mouth!

Made a few bags for storing and using my swags over the wet season. Recycled my old winch strap for handles
