Like rabbits, foxes, pigs, toads, cats et al; carp are here to stay. A 50% reduction in numbers would be handy though for an already recovering native fishery.
I note rabbits are well and truly on the way back in NSW post successful control with Mixo and Calicivirus

Very efficient carp program in Tasmania, they claimed possible extermination in one lake but I think they found a few since.
