They might be hanging around after the high at East point. Get them using bread on a gar rig.

What type of gars are at buff creek ?? Small snub nose or the 5 spots ?

The small snub nose are the one we used at Dundee the other week they went great so that's want you are using them for they are the go
Little sails little bait the ones your get out of the bait shop are to big I think

last time I was in the seafood shop at nightcliff they had kilo bags of gar individually frozen, still nice and firm when thawed a bit bigger than the ones in the photo though
fish are skinny, the ocean is fat

What's the latest on where the gars are? Keen to stock up on Friday for a shot at billies on the weekend. Buff or east point the go? High tide for both spots? I suppose buff would be easier if I can just chuck the cast net over them, if there's a heap about.

East point is loaded out going tide !
I've used a throw bet but it stuffs up there heads when they get stuck in the net !
Which is what's needed to tow them around effectively

I go right out on the rocks once it drops like 200m out to the left sorta towards mandorah few drops of tuna oil has a mad oil slick going out and the come in feed the poop fish close to shore and chuck ya baited hook out past them little parrot and stripes and small mullet are a pain !

Why not use a white shad, fickbait or hollow belly with a pink skirt over the head of it??

I've actually been thinking about throwing a weedless zman at a billy same principle as the circle hook sort off
