Cod on Surface: Thumbs up from me
A bit of a pictorial for the FFFers.
Been down south visiting a few people and chuckiing a few spinner baits.
Started off New Years with a trip to the Loddon at Bridgewater, where we caught a few small reddies and my brother in law lost a good yella at the boat.
Then I hit Lake Eppalock with Dooka where we caught a heap of small reddies for the day on plastics and vibes. It was 38C and very still, it was nice to jump in for a dip.
Hit The Murray near Picola with Ponyplay where he snagged a 63cm Cod
I then hit Lake Mulwala for a few nights camping with the family, with one intention to get a cod on a surface lure. I managed two on the first night a 58cm being the biggest. The boof the surface just like a barra, Addictive cr.p.
Camp
Sunset pics
58cm Cod on the surface
Coxy, A mate who fished the run off with me last year and who is coming back up chasning Barra in May for a week.
A 55cm Coxy got on a spinner bait
A 65cm my brother in law got on the troll.
Cod Lollie
Thumbs up for camping at Mulwala from the kids
Then off to Lake Hume for a visit where we put the boat in for some casual cruising and had some fun chasing small reddies, but no good fish like yellas or cod. There were alot of trout rising though.Matt Flynn would have been keen.
Once again the kids were rugged up at Lake Hume but gave it the thumbs up.
If i was ever to move down the South Lake Hume would be the spot. It has a great the variety of fishing destinations within a 2 hour drive. But for now I cant wait to get back to the NT and get out chasing some barra in Barranoia.
One last crack at the Loddon with Coxy on Friday before I head back to see if I can pick up one of those yellas.

That's a great bunch of pix Dingo. Yep, I would have been keen, I watch the river here as I drive along it every second day - no hatches seen yet, but it is getting warm, around 30C some days
Still doing fencing and the like, trout have to wait.

Hi Dingo,
Some great pics there.
And yes, it must be nice to be able to go for a dip when you feel like it, and not to have to worry about croc...
Have a good day,
Pecheur
