I did a run to shoal bay 3 weeks ago and pulled 20 bucks + threw back 2 small jennies.

Interestingly 18 of the bucks were the Red Crabs, only got 2 green bucks and both jennies were green. In past years it was always the other way around, mainly green crabs with the odd red one. Anyone else finding the same?

Yesterday at SWA I only managed 4 bucks and only 1 red clawed crab amongst them. But thats not uncommon for that area. Usually only get the green crabs. Water was 26 deg brrrrrrr

Yep - me 3.
This year red's have out numbered green by probably 4 to 1 from Shoal Bay (not that long ago you would rarely see a red crab over there).
A lot of people I'm talking to are saying they're 'migrating' from the NW (Kimberly's ??).
Another thing this year - while the crabs are plentiful in the bay, seems they're late developers this year - probably every second crab for me has been nowhere near chokas of meat?

Yeah, there's some nice ones around. Picked these ones up in one pull in the harbour a fortnight back. All chock full. Only 1 jenny which went back and no red ones which is odd because last year they were starting to outnumber the greenies, certainly towards the end of the Dry. Only 1 red one so far out of 3 trips :?

Interesting about the red crabs, was noted also out at the Finniss a couple of years ago.

The red crabs are dominant in the Kimberley.

Be interesting to see if it is a temporary or permanent change.

Had the same thing melv in shoal. Got over 20 in couple of pulls including 10 on outgoing. That was on the last new moon. Went out full moon and completely different struggled to get double figures and size. The same for fishing. Barra going off on the new moon. On full moon heaps of bait not much action
