Few weeks delay but been meaning to post about recent harbour run up middle arm at beginning March.... Weekday run so on my own...glassoff morning, neaps coming into springs, pushed up fishing likely flats, got a few undersized flicking small prawn imitations. Then in one particular spot there were four or five 75+ roving the flats together, got plenty of follows but couldn't get a taker....very frustrating :bonk: so headed into a few creeks paying particular attention to sidescan....not much bait around but then in one spot found 3 or 4 big fish hanging off a bait ball just inside a creek mouth....trolled back and forth working rods hard then bingo, immediate jump! 10 mins later and after a great fight with three big leaps and a few aborted net shots a lovely harbour 83cm. It's hard work by yourself. Home by 12, the harbour is healthy ! :)

That's a good harbour fish. Often close to home is worth the while.

Well done.. I'm hoping the good wet makes the harbour even better. I really need to learn to read my side scan to see and target those fish. Any tips? I usually find the water too shallow to see much and never see fish anyway.... or don't know what to look for. It's one area I find hard to get much online help.

Barra should be fat, full of food, be interesting if this is noticed.
