Photos of Thready over 1.5m

Post by rushy »

As promised here are the photos of the 1.3m & 1.52m Thready caught in the Fitzroy River, Rockhampton on Tuesday. Both were caught on Elton John Bandit lures while trolling against the current over rock bar. Both took about 20 minutes to land, big healthy fish, biggest I've ever seen. Supposed to be on the Win 9 local news fishing report on Friday.
We'll be eating Salmon for the next 6 months! :catch: 8-)

Salmon are like Jews. That one is probably only 5 years old. They live and feed hard then die young.
Much better off keeping that Threadie than a 70cm Goldie thats 15 years old.

They don't release very well anyhow they are very fragile at that size and when you get them they will usually swim off and die, better off eating them, or just don't fish for them.....
but they are only fish, no point getting precious about it.....

We used to see a lot that size out on the Tiwi Islands...

Hi Rushy, bl..dy good fish.....congrats, :catch:

But they do get bigger, I remeber seeing a Rex Hunt show where Steve Starling was fishing at Dudwell, Bathurst Is and heard a big spash, when they went to investigate, a shark had chopped a big threddia. they gaffed the head & shoulders left by the shark and I think from memory it went 40lbs

Now thats a treadie
