Vic water levels!
For some of you ex Viccos that saw the draught ravage the state, here's some great figures of lake levels to look at on the rise atm. Plenty of rivers in flood also for the first time in years and years
http://www.fishvictoria.com/pnews/water_levels.php
A lot of these lakes stopped getting fish stocked into them as they went dry,or were about too. Now,they are all gowing through the roof, and haven't stopped rising yet with more good rain to come and a big snow melt

Thats a good link Jonesy,
That is great to see, I used to live in the Bendigo area, and seeing Eppalock up that high is great news.
Lets just hope Coliban Water dont go silly in giving out the water.

A helping hand from the NT this weekend...getting a great inflow from your damp air this weekend, the planets have aligned and getting a monsoonal type drop inland. The air even smelt like the NT last night, damp smell to it
Big falls already more to come through the day. The natives are finally going to get floods to spawn in again, and dams will continue to go through the roof

Re: Vic water levels!
Great site Jonesy, I am originaly from Castlemaine so seeing water in Cairn Curren is really good news.
Be interesting to see what the levels are after this weekend.
When I was talkin to my mother earlier this week and she was saying people down that way are cleaning out caravans located on rivers and lakes that have not had water near them for 5 or 10 years.
Hopefully it is a sign of things to come.

Re: Vic water levels!
Just saw the news....they copped it inland alright,NT style
Think ch7 run the Melbourne news up there still? Few good pics on that
Reckon Cairn Curran might go over 50% within the next fortnight billster.
The figures will be through the roof for most of the lakes

Need to fix my quote here Billster.jonesy wrote:Reckon Cairn Curran might go over 50% within the next fortnight billster.

Was 67% this morning and is every chance to go over the wall they're saying...amazing!
Eildon rose 1.2m overnight, and is now over 50% and will surely go beyond 60. All those holiday houses at Bonnie Doon bought in the 80's boom might get some use again.

Re: Vic water levels!
All those bone dry dustbowls coming back to life. Amazing ,I wonder if lakes like burrumbeet and learmoth are on their way back too. Used to do some good fishing at Burrumbeet. Will take the fish a while to re establish though. The're debating whether to stock Wendouree with trout of natives..Used to be some good trout there although I never caught any. Too busy

Re: Vic water levels!
jarrah jack burrumbeet has quite a bit of water in it(unsure of a figure) and is rising quite fast still green hill lake in ararat has gone over first time in over 10 years.
as for wendoureen it has been said that it will be a mixed fishery with trout and some natives(unsure of which species) which is a good thing.
