A report From FNQ
Fished Fitzroy Is on Sunday, run out past Cape Grafton was smooth with calm seas (with no rain ) and very light South Easterlies.
First drop was on the SE side of the island and landed a nice coral trout with the first strike of the day. We landed a five or six Trickies all undersize but tons of fun on the baitcaster!
I was talked out of heading further out to try a wreck about 10km from Fitzroy Is. We fished on the eastern side of little Fitzroy Island and landed another Trout. On the way home we had another drop on the southern side of the island and had lots of bait thieving going on. Downsized to a small circle hook and landed the first Batfish, great fun on light gear.
At the boat ramp, some freinds reported catching only one mack, whilst trolling past turtle cove.
Rough as guts on the way back to Cairns once we got past Yarrabah, soaking wet with spray up the leads into the SE winds and chop.
