Great to see a report from somewhere new - we haven't heard much from the NQ mob here lately.

Looks like you had a great charter - it won't be long before boats like that are operating out of Darwin :mrgreen:

Nice work lads, use to love heading out to the reef when I lived in T'ville. The bomber wrecks for Nany's and the out to John Brewer etc for reefies.

Cheers guys I wish I had taken a GPS as the guys on the boat said they were happy to give me the way-points for their spots. The captain was an ex proffesional trawler so he was pretty switched on with the place. I forgot and wont be bcak inTownsville any time soon so missed out. :banghead:

Looks like I will just have to get back down the Roper and chase the Barra some more. Funny thing fishing it doesn't matter if it's Barra or Barracuda you just keep going back for more. Off too Thailand next week for a holiday which will include a charter at some stage hope it is as good as Townsville :cheers:

What did it cost for the charter. Were they all your friends.

Cost about $6000 for 24hrs. All mates from work so about $400 each once we brought beer. They supplied everything except alcohol. great food that kept on coming snacks and platters between meals. They cleaned all the fish and undid all the tangles and if you got busted off they would just give you another rod while they rigged up your other one.

Sounds good and you didnt even have to clean the boat afterwards.
A similar trip in your own boat would cost close to the same.
