So I have diligently insured my car and boat for lots of years, but for a couple of years havent insured contents.
Apparently this has cost me about 3k...
A few weeks ago, I attached the boat and trailer to the dirty stinking troopy, loaded the troopy with rods reels sounder flares and EPIRBs (the sounder epirbs and flares i keep in a grab bag to keep the thieving scum at bay)
I went upstairs and on my return three minutes later, the car was involved in fire...
TIO is in the process of sorting the claim out, but apparently my fishing gear which I have paid for as part of my boat insurance, is not covered in the claim, it wasn't in the boat. (which thankfully didnt become involved in the incident)
If I had used my head and had contents, I would have been paid out.
Just a heads up for those who don't....
Although I have asked TIO to review the matter, as I was going fishing, really, I have no issues with the way they handled my claim or anything, they have been quick polite, open and taken the time to explain every step as it arises.

Thats a "hot" looking troopy.
Sorry someone was bound to say it.
Pain in the butt going through all your insurance stuff. Glad its being dealt with.

Gday mate,
Sorry to hear about the car dude, I live in Savannah drive in Leanyer and happened to see your car going up in flames with the cops out the front just looking. What more could they do.
Hope your claim works out for you.
