Leader to braid knot
Hi guys,
I've grown up always crimping my lures to a bit of mono then crimping to a swivle and then obviously tieing my swivle off to the braid. However I'm being told that I should ditch the swivel and tie braid to Mono directly for both flicking and trawling, but I'm scared my knots won't be strong enough,,,, can anyone tell me what Knott I should use for this? I normally fish 30lb fireline and say 60lb fluro leader... Thanks in advance

Don't know if this is the same knot or not, but I use an Albright to the double,

Re: Leader to braid knot
I use the slim beauty (with a dab of super glue) and rapala knot to tie the leader to the lure

Re: Leader to braid knot
The easiest and strongest knot, the IMPROVED albright knot, 7 turns up and 7 turns back, use a soft leader(fluoro carbon is too hard) to allow the braid to 'bite', watch this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9x9JfrqWwg

Spider hitch Double and a Tom Jones knott. Can be tied in 30 seconds.
FG knott if you have a spare 10 minutes before you go fishing is the better of the two but I don't tie it when i'm on the water as it takes a while to get sorted.

Re: Leader to braid knot
Put your rod in the holder and tie off your braid to the rail under tension then over , under your leader - hard to explain but much easier and uniform done like this

Re: Leader to braid knot
For the double I use a 8 turn overhand knot, retains 100% breaking strength in braid.
