I've seen both techniques work.

The daly is a ripper for this and as the waves break bait gets dislodged from the grass and roots allowing the barra to ambush the little buggers. It only lasts a few seconds so make sure you are in the strike zone not sorting out a birds nest.


Tight lines 'n' keep the shiny side up people.
