Used to get a few having a go at soft plastics in Lake Macquarie when I was growing up, you would get a bit of a tug on your line (6lbmono back then!) and end up with a little circular hole in the body of the plastic. That was Mr Twister double tails in lime that were the bomb when fishing for duskies. Haven't really noticed them much up here, but sure it would be about the same. Even if they don't get jagged, you can often get them right in near the boat, then chuck a readily rigged squid jig to them and they will switch over onto that.
