I used to do this a lot downsouth...

Buy some squid jigs, pinks and greens are best and head down to nightcliff jetty and jig around the lights....

Always get a good feed!

I know of blokes who use throw nets at the wharf to get em as they swim past they can catch up to 5 at a time using this method...

I have even seen em swim up to the the fluro tube i put over the back of my boat over the wrecks in the harbour... I just scoop em in a bucket

Caught some big ones off Lee Point. I usally leave them in the water beside the boat until they do that then lift them in. Had one one day that I thought had finished, started to lift it into the boat and while he was verticle it sprayed into the air, we had ink raining down all over the boat.
Damn stuff is almost impossible to get off. I've still got cloths and a tackle box that it won't come off.
