Murray River House Boating

Post by Lats »

In just over 2 weeks I am off to a stretch of Murray River in SA for 4 nights house boating. I was going to take a rod and a few soft plastics to throw around. Does anyone know if I will need a license to fish down there?

I was once living in BowHill which is up river, i am sure you will stop there to resupply with grog. :drinking5:

We fished all the time and my mates down there still who have farms around the area and the shop keeper 'SHOVEL' and Jodie tell me the Callop/Yellowbelly are still going strong. use shrimps for bait (catch with soap in net) or trusty tiger worms on a patanosta???(not sure of spelling) rig and you should clean up.

Fish off the back of your Houseboat when parked up. drop in on the willow line in the deaper water. A few eel tailed Powertail being caught aswell which is surprising as in the 5 years i lived there i only seen one caught! must meen the river is getting healthy again!!

Anyway good luck and i am very jeolous, i miss that place
