Thoughts on a new jigging stick?

Post by barnzy »

Hi all, I'm off to channel point early next week to do some jigging. I'm after a new jigging combo, I like the new sustain 5000 from shimano, has any one any experience with them. If so whats a good light rod to pair it up with? I like a nice whipy tip but a stiff butt. Any help would be appreciated.

Sustain is a nice basic reel. What line class do you intend to run?
My latest jig stick is a Shimano Trevala S 6'3" Medium, coupled with a biomaster 5000 with 50lb.
I reckon it's the best value for money jig stick on the local market.
And it's light enough to still cast small lures for barra or pelagics.

Well worth adding to the short list. Fishing and Outdoor World have them in stock.

I was thinking of running 40lb on it, just out of curiosity do you remember how much your combo was? Has anyone tried any other brands of reels?
