Okuma Komodo baitcaster?

Post by Matt Flynn »

Okuma Komodo is under-rated apparently, haven't used one ... http://www.okumafishing.com/product/vie ... ile/komodo

A good Shimano baitcaster for smaller fish ... http://www.shimanofish.com.au/products/ ... -ci4p.html

This Curado is better than the previous model ... http://www.shimanofish.com.au/products/ ... ado-i.html

What is the best baitcaster right now?

Might ask for one for review. Agent86 will get it, he's the only one here who catches enough for a good review :D

He's already using an Okuma eggbeater, reckons it's good.

I've just obtained a new Curado 201i and it's a sweet reel for the price point anyhow. Much improved from the last model. Casts real well out of the box and at about $170 delivered, good value if it stands up.
I do like the Chronarch Ci4+ as well though. Interesting though is the Curado has better drag figures than the Ci4+

Cheers

I've got one, nice little reel.
Drag seems ok I haven't tested it on a big barra yet, 83 is the biggest.
It casts very well, extreamly fast bearings.

The Komodo KDR 364 is bigger than the average baitcaster, seems nice n smooth, and with the option for a larger handle looks the goods for jigging
gonna give it a try on jewies and big goldies next week to see how it handles it
with the new jig stik I got to match it (just had to get another rod)

will let you know how it goes :-)
If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!

Especially when you can see them!
