Post Posted: Wed Apr 20, 2011 4:42 pm    Post subject: Woolianna Boat Ramp Open For Easter or Not

Hello All,

Can anybody let us know if the public Boat Ramp on Woolianna Road is going to be open for Easter.

I tried phoning the Daly River Police Station, only to be redirected to the police in Darwin, and they gave me a 1800 number to phone, that had an out dated recorded message on it. ( no help at all ).

If anybody has more up to date information, it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jeff

word on the street is no - I heard yesterday that you can launch fromt he crossing but any thing more than that is pretty much impossible but thtas what I heard.

Perhaps ring Banyan or Mango farm and see if they know.

Cheers
Shane

Hey Big Col
Can you just clarify, are you saying the road crossing over the daly is open? I thought it was still running at 10 plus metres

Not a hope of getting accross the daly in a vehicle unless it has one long snorkel!! :smoking:

He means the road that goes down to the crossing. People launch from there all the time its just difficult due to the mud.

yeah launched off the road to the crossing, had a fun time launching the mud sucks, there where half a dozen boats in the Banyan farm ramp so i guess those in the know are able to use it. About 15 boats on the river and most creeks are running backwards counldn't see the bank around elizabeth!! the road down to the crossing is shocking be careful at night the edges have washed away with about a meter drop off the road is cracked and it looks like more could give way.
