Top End Park Closures - from NRETAS

The Department of Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sport (NRETAS) advises that Gregory National Park and Keep River National Park, located south west of Katherine near the Western Australia border, are temporarily closed until further notice.

Recent rainfall has caused localised flooding in these areas, and with more rainfall predicted later this week the decision to close the parks has been made for visitor safety.

NRETAS will advise when the parks will reopen to the public.

Top End Park Closures

The Department of Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sport (NRETAS) advises that Keep River National Park and parts of Gregory National Park, located south west of Katherine near the Western Australia border, are temporarily closed until further notice.

Recent rainfall has caused localised flooding in these areas, and with more rainfall predicted later this week the decision to close the parks has been made for visitor safety.

The current status of Gregory National Park is as follows:

* Sullivan’s Campground OPEN
* Victoria Gorge Access OPEN
* Escarpment Walk OPEN
* Old Victoria River Crossing OPEN
* Joe Creek day use area & walking track OPEN
* Bullita access road CLOSED
* Big Horse Campground OPEN
* Gregory’s Tree OPEN
* Bullita Homestead & Campground CLOSED
* Limestone Gorge to Calcite Flow walk CLOSED
* Limestone Campground CLOSED

In addition all 4WD tracks are also closed.

* Bullita Stock Route CLOSED
* Tuwakam Track CLOSED
* Humbert Track CLOSED
* Wickham Track CLOSED
* Gibbie Creek Track CLOSED
* Broadarrow Track CLOSED

NRETAS will advise when these areas will reopen to the public.
