Hmm, not the only car to get bogged out there today either. Had a mate attempt it and got bogged to the axles as well. Apparently he got snatched out by another guy who got bogged about 1km further along. Eventually they all got out but non of them actually made it to leaders. They all shat them self and went home.

Ha ha.. Gotta love being bogged.. Looks alot like our Roper to Limmen trip last April.. From the Savannah way sign, (which read open) to the Limmen river camp took us 2 1/2 days.. Towing boats, and winching sucks big time eh....

It is great fun to rip into the mud like that BUT come on fellas. Driving on that road when it is so wet will bugger it even more and make it impassable for even longer for the rest of us. It's a wonder they don’t just close it completely until it dries out a bit. :(

I agree they should close the road, the only reason we continued out there is my brother in law had been out there on Sun towing his boat and told us the road was still pretty good. Admittedly we did get 600mm + rain after that.

I bent my drawbar towing to Leaders last staurdy after a jack knife, I was only going 40 kms in H4 but it was pissing down. The bloke at the ramp reckon 2 other trailers were written off earlier in the week.

Thats it..... digging that road up in those conditions of course it was going to be stuffed.... makes it hard for everyone wanting to head out in the next few weeks.

big deal beats sitting at home reading about peoples travels give you lot something to talk about that dont venture out while its raining
week of dry weather they will have that road back to top notch condition like it has been since the forum member
got onto the road works for gunnpoint rd that road has never been as well maintained as it has been in the last 6 months
