Just received this email from Lionel Egan at the Daly ...
We hope you are able to assist the URGENT dilemma at the Daly River boat ramp.
Large trees have fallen across the Woolianna Road launching ramp?
If you have any contacts in the Road work area who are able to remove large trees which have fallen across the Woolianna Road launching ramp?
We were told there is an enormous fine if any person/s attempt to remove.
It is a danger & the river level is dropping so fast it is impossible to launch & retrieve boats.
Locals, tourists, regular boat people are using the river.
The BIG competitions start tomorrow & need to launch their vessels.
Please forward this email if it helps speed the process.
Maybe whilst the crew is in the area they could fill the hole at the top of the ramp which is a hazard both to pedestrians & anything with wheels, yesterday a trailer hitch crunched it.

What a joke that there are big fines if someone wants to get out there with there chainsaw and clear the trees. I know if I drove down there to launch my boat and there were trees blocking the ramp, I would be clearing them. I guess it's time to call us a "state" because not much exists of the ''territory"

Yerp, there really was two trees at the base of the ramp, I tried chopping them up with my outboard but it didn't work.....it was actually quite hard to launch there in a 5.5m boat because of them and wally's ramp really was all silted up so I had to use the public one......
