Got these emailed to me yesterday - Arnhem Hwy looking out over the South Alligator on the way to Jabiru supposedly last weekend??? (don't know how authentic they are?? - just looked up road closures & all seems good. I seem to remember seeing some similar pics a few years back ....)

Indeed Bullet...your damaged mind has done well. My damaged mind produced a similar result but couldn't extend itself to come up with the name of the cyclone responsible.

no longer a wannabe....indaclub 15 april 2009 and stoked!
Early march 07.
Wasn't Monica,Monica was end of april 06. This one was just a massive low that sat over Jabiru for 4 days and dumped about 800mm if memory serves me right.
I had to drive around the long way to get to South Alligator for the first trip or two..

I know a bloke that was fishing at Mini Minni at the time, he motored right up to the big Banyan tree about 500m from the South Aligator Motor Inn on the Jabiru side, lucky he had his car at the Inn, all he could see of the fish cleaning table at the South ramp was a bit of the top of the roof...
He and his crew then had to get a boat ride back across the South Aligator, get a lift into Jabiru and then cath a light aircraft back to Darwin and wait for the water to go down...
