About 60% self raising flour, 40% corn flour, a bit of turmeric a bit of cayenne pepper, yum

Well picked up, my brew would be a little dusty, add whatever beer I'm drinking at the time, Becks, Coopers Red, Heineken or something along those lines.

Sounds interesting GLP, will give that a try instead of the usual crumbs.

I was told recently to roast a wallaby leg with a can of Coke, but that's another story ...

Super cold batter is the go regardless of whether you use Soda water or beer, I stick my batter in the freezer until it gets ice crystals around the edges and it turns out ultra thin and crispy.

Spot on John..We stand the bowl in a big bowl of ice..75/25 plain flour/cornflour and light ice beer. Oil at about 170deg..really crispy tempura style..battter should be consistancy of crepe mix. Salt and lemon pepper.
