Went there in June but it was an 'expedition' not fishing

When we did fish, it was volume v size.

Cant beat the ribbon reefs for pure volume AND size

Thanks nomad, yea i think you are on the money. We have swapped the ribbon reefs for Montgomery this year. Have heard tales of some good sails and smaller blacks out the back so we thought we would give it a crack!!

While in one of the big inlets over there, We met 4 boats (around 7m) who had been travelling together for months. They launched at Derby and arranged fuel pick up from Paspaley – cost them about $30k for fuel
Not bad really when you think about it.
