As a southerner I have not seen many signs of yabbie/pink nipper activities up here. All the sandy areas I have found in the harbour do not show the normal holes associated with the yabbies, there may be the odd few around but I'm yet to find any. May have to ask a local.......... I know down south they are a top bait.
Would like to know if anyone else has had luck on finding some nippers/yabbies?

Never seen them up here GC... I don't think we get them ??:
use to use them on Bribie island alll the time whenI was a little tacker long time ago now
I have never even seen a yabbie pump up her for sale......gotone had one a few months ago that they ordered for some tradesman but he was using it to take samples or some thing like that ??: ??:
Don't be shy about using the crabs you see around though....they can be top bait for most of our fish...big goldies in the creeks love them

I have always been interested to know there are nipper/one arm baddits up here. They were great bait for whiting and flathead down south. I reckon I have seen some good holes that would be worth pumping (with a yabbie pump). I pulled out my old yabbie pump a while back, but the rubber had perished. I would have liked to see what is around. Maybe even sandworms
